DFW Tzus & More Rescue is a 501(c)3 nonprofit rescue and foster care organization whose ultimate mission is to match homeless Shih Tzu, Lhasa Apsos, and their furry friends with loving, forever home, and give these homeless animals a second chance at a wonderful, new life. By working closely with local animal shelters, we hope to prevent the senseless euthanasia of these unfortunate stray or abandoned pets, which have ended up in shelters through no fault of their own. We also take dogs from owners who can no longer care for them. As our human population ages, we are taking more and more dogs from the elderly who have to downsize and go into senior facilities where dogs aren't allowed. So heartbreaking! We are an ALL VOLUNTEER group and take no salaries nor personal expenses. As we say often, ALL of our $$ go to the dogs! Our main expenses are vet care, boarding, and grooming. Most of our volunteers work full time, have families, and yet still make time to love and care for their foster dogs as if they were family. We have a great group of selfless volunteers who definitely go above and beyond. We usually have weekly adoption events on Saturdays at Euless Petsmart, and our foster parents attend as often as possible in order to find homes for their foster dogs and make space available so that we can save more dogs. We are always in need of additional caring foster homes and volunteers to transport from shelters to vet clinic.
