Fayetteville-Lincoln County Animal Shelter

We provide a temporary shelter to animals abused, neglected or turned in. The Fayetteville-Lincoln Co. Animal Control operates from the shelter.

The Humane Society of Lincoln County is a non-profit 501 (3) (c) organization. Our mission is to operate the animal shelter, reduce the overpopulation of cats and dogs, educate the local population on responsible animal ownership and seek justice for animal cruelty offenders and ensure the proper and humane treatment of all animals.

The Society was formed in 1985 by people distressed over the conditions at the local animal pound and concerned about the needs of orphaned, neglected and abused animals in the city and county.

At that time, the Society took over the operation of an Animal Shelter and the investigation of all animal cruelty cases. This is work which we continue to do.
