Save The Cow Kirtan Mela is a three-day, two-night music festival at ISKCON New Talavan Farm Community in Carriere, Mississippi, with the purpose of saving cows from slaughter. Vegetarians, vegans, animal rights activists, and anyone who enjoys organic farming, healthy living, yoga, and meditation are sure to love this festival. You will have the opportunity to bond with friends and family and meet new people while feasting, camping, swimming, shopping, exploring Mother Nature, and connecting with the Sacred Cow. In 2014 alone there reportedly 3.7 billion animals slaughtered in the US and the numbers keep climbing. It is heart breaking. We here at New Talavan wish love and protect the animals from cruelty, abuse and neglect. New Talavan farm in Mississippi is a 1200 acre farm where we save cows from slaughter. This organic farming community has the largest collection of saved cows and one of the biggest adopt a cow program in this area.
