Citizens Committee for the Lakewood Animal Shelter (CCLAS)

CCLAS improves and protects the lives of Lakewood's pet population by providing financial and volunteer resources to the Lakewood Animal Shelter.

The underlying mission of CCLAS is to improve and protect the lives of Lakewood’s pet companion population. Specifically, by providing financial and volunteer resources, CCLAS aids in the adoption of abandoned cats and dogs as well as their well being during their stay at the shelter and in foster care. Further, through fundraising and adoption events, its newsletter and other programs such as the Spay/Neuter program, CCLAS interacts with the Lakewood community to promote education and advocacy regarding the shelter and responsible pet ownership.

The shelter is located in Lakewood, Ohio, south of the Emerald Necklace Marina in the Rocky River Reservation of the Cleveland Metropark, Lakewood Dog Park, and the City of Lakewood Waste Water Treatment Plant on the East side of Metropark Drive/Valley Parkway. There's a long narrow driveway just off Valley Parkway Trail.
