PROCEEDURES FOR RESCUES

1. The Shelter will be open for viewing and taking pictures of the animals from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm Monday through Friday. Saturday and Sunday closed. Rescue pick-up can be arranged earlier in the day with 48 hour notice. If extra pictures are necessary please contact the Shelter staff.

2. $7.50 pull fee that will cover de-wormer, parvo, distemper and rabies shots. Also basic vet check. Rescues may use the $100 adoption fee that will cover all shots, basic vet check, microchip and spay/neuter. This may be cheaper than you can get it done. All Rescues must be outside of Taylor County or it will be considered a $100 adoption.

3. Payment must be made in advance of picking up the animal. Payment can be made in person or through a Pay Pal account set up by the Taylor Co Volunteers. That account is: . TCASVolunteers@gmail.com. A check will be taken to the shelter by a volunteer in time for your animal to make its transport.

4. All Rescues must be approved by the Taylor County Volunteers. Necessary information will be obtained from your website. We would also like the name of any Vet that you work directly with and any other shelters that you are currently rescuing from. Please do not feel insulted if we call for references.

5. Transport options may be available. Please contact TCASVolunteers via this page or TCASVolunteers@yahoo.com if there is a need for transport.

6. We need from rescue for shelters records.....
1) Full name of rescue
2) Physical address
3) Phone number
4) Email address
5) Name of contact person

7) Rescue's have 5 days after confirmation to have the animals moved or they will forfeit any and all monies AND the animals. If the animal is not moved within the 5 days allotted the animal will go back up for rescue/adoption but the original rescue CANNOT reconfirm.

Please understand that the Taylor County volunteers want to make the Rescue effort as organized as possible. We are under some direction by the Fiscal Court and the Shelter and we will honor those directives. Making sure that all Rescues are reputable is essential. We will work with you however we can to rescue as many animals from our Shelter and get them to loving homes.
Dogs deemed aggressive by shelter staff and or shelter vet HAVE to be picked up by specialized rescue. We cannot arrange transport assistance.
