"Mobilizing the caring power of communities to reduce the number of unwanted, neglected and abused animals."
We at the Great Lakes Bay Animal Society believe that by mobilizing the caring power of communities, we can reduce the number of these unwanted, neglected and abused animals that are surrendered to shelters in Midland, Bay and Saginaw counties.
As a companion animal rescue, we give care and treatment to animals in transition to permanent adoptive homes through our Foster Program. Our Outreach and Youth Programs promote education for responsible pet ownership and the importance of spaying and neutering for controlling pet overpopulation.
The Outreach Program is also working hard to foster a cooperative environment in the Great Lakes Bay Region, encouraging like-minded animal rescue and advocacy groups to share resources and support one another. We host and promote events, programs and resources that will benefit all organizations and individuals involved with and interested in animal welfare in our community, keeping in mind our ultimate goal of reducing the number of companion animals surrendered and euthanized in the Great Lakes Bay Region.
