We are a foster based rescue located in West TN. Our goal is to rescue and rehome "unwanted" dogs in our area and make them valued members of a family.

The volunteers at Goofy Foot Dog Rescue believe it is our duty to care for the unwanted dogs that cross our path. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs left homeless for whatever reason – dogs in public shelters where they are at high risk of euthanasia due to pet overpopulation, dogs given up by their owners because of difficult circumstances, and those in danger of abuse or neglect. We believe in the principal of compassion and strive to make the lives of these dogs better through vetting, rehabilitation and nurturing and then place them into loving forever homes where they are valued as family members.

To be "goofy footed" is a surfing term meaning "to put your right foot forward". And that's just what we are doing! We are a rescue based in West TN - we fully vet all dogs before they are adopted out. Full vetting consists of immunizations, spay/neuter, rabies vaccine if old enough, heartworm testing if old enough, flea/tick/heartworm prevention will be current at time of adoption. Heartworm positive dogs are treated prior to adoption. We do not euthanize for space and will only euthanize if there is nothing further that can be done for the dog and the quality of life is such that it is warranted.
