California Working Dog Foundation (CWDF) saves the lives of many animals each year whose time has run out in public shelters and who are scheduled to be killed. CWDF's founders, Lucie Swan and Kari Jo Maracic, make sure every animal receives proper nutrition, medical evaluation and treatment, positive reinforcement training and lots of love as they await their new forever home. All of our animals are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, vetted, microchipped, and cuddled prior to adoption.

The CWDF was founded in April 2012 as the shared vision of Kari Jo Maracic (The Oakland German Shepherd Group) and Lucie Swan (LA Belgian Malinois Rescue).
