The Wolf's Den Pitbull Rescue

The Wolf's Den Pitbull Rescue is dedicated to rescuing pitbulls from high kill shelters.

These animals are abandoned all the time and often it is because the owner realized that they got in over their head. It is not enough to have enough love, when it comes to this breed of dog. Pitbulls require much more than just love. They require discipline and attention and constant reinforcement. You cannot expect a pitbull to learn the first time around and then you never have to teach it again. Pitties are stubborn and hard headed. BUT they are also the best dog you will ever own IF you are cut out to own one! Pitties are beautiful, loving, devoted, dedicated, loyal to a fault and head strong. They will defend their people and their family with their lives. WHICH IS WHY THEY NEED TO BE TRAINED!!!!!!! ALL DOGS WILL!!!!! My pitbulls are the biggest mushballs you have ever met. But they also can turn on a dime or at least they could when we rescued them, so they went to training within four weeks of arriving. As a matter of fact, my Mama, is a therapy dog now. THIS IS A MUST for all pitbulls going through my rescue. IF they have not already gone through a class while they were boarding with me or with the foster, they MUST take a class with one of my trainers as soon as it is available with their adoptive family. If money is an issue, the rescue can work something out with the family, but the training is NON-NEGOTIABLE! It is almost as important for the new owners as it is for the dog. Anyone getting a dog from us will get a tremendous amount of information from the rescue on the breed they are adopting, (we do adopt out breeds other than just pitties). One thing that we do ask. PLEASE DO NOT GET ADVICE FROM FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS!!!!! (And then come and tell us "but so & so said this..." We do this for a living for a reason and I can assure you it is NOT to make money!!! It is find wonderful homes for these amazing dogs and to educate the prospective owners and the public on how to raise, train, re-train, love, teach, encourage, re-build the spirit of a broken pittie, and dedicate your life to this precious dog. If you have questions, call us anytime, day or night...seriously! If we don't have the answer, we will get it for you. If it is a medical question, call a vet that is well versed in Pitbulls or whatever breed you have adopted. But PLEASE do NOT follow your neighbor's or friend's advice. Ask a professional. That is what we are here for. :) On that note, Please look around, enjoy see the pups and if there are any questions, please don't hesitate to email and/or call. We are available most of the time to answer questions and set up meetings with potential adopters.
