Who we are

Wisconsin German Shepherd Rescue initially began in 1991. We were the first and only rescue for German Shepherds in the state at that time. Our mission was to help abused, neglected, and/or abandoned German Shepherds to find a new home for the rest of their life. Eventually, we started taking in birds and farm animals also. To reflect that, we changed our name to Fur-Ever Friends Animal Sanctuary in 2011. In late 2013, we changed our name back to Wisconsin German Shepherd Rescue.

To date, WGSR/Fur-Ever Friends has placed over 2500 loving pets in new homes.
