Please provide photo, description, when/where (city and street/area) that the pet was lost/found, and a point of contact (either email address or phone number). Unless you update us, the post will remain here for 30 days and then be removed. Thank you!

Here are a few tips of what you should do when you find a dog or cat --

- notify the shelter in case someone goes there looking for him (email: animals@weatherfordtx.gov, phone: 817-598-4111) Supply a photo of the animal and details as to when lost or found, provide contact information.

- post signs/flyers at local vet offices, or at a minimum call them to let them know

- take the pet to a vet or the shelter to be scanned for a microchip (there is no fee for this service)

- post photos to Facebook: Parker Paws, Weatherford Lost/Found Forum, Parker County Dog Spot and Pawsitively Texas are a few pages. Provide description with info of when and where found, e.g., cross streets, location, etc. and your contact info.

We usually wait 1 week to allow enough time for their owners to claim them before considering the animal for the Parker Paws foster program. A temperment and health assessment will be required prior to bringing the pet into the Parker Paws foster program, and if you are willing to foster, it saves us finding a temporary home!
