GSRNC is a 501(c) (3) all volunteer, non-profit, community based organization dedicated to the welfare of German Shepherd Dogs in Northern CA.

German Shepherd Rescue of Northern California (GSRNC), a non-profit, all-volunteer organization, is dedicated to the rescue and welfare of German Shepherd dogs (GSDs) through a unique, comprehensive suite of programs representing a full life-cycle commitment to healthy puppies and adult dogs alike. Sick or seriously injured dogs are able to receive essential medical treatment through our Cody Program while senior or terminally ill dogs are given the opportunity to live out their concluding chapters in loving homes thanks to our Thulani Program.

The specific purpose of our organization is the prevention of cruelty to animals by:

1. Rescuing German Shepherd Dogs from life threatening situations at animal shelters and elsewhere.
2. Finding German Shepherd Dogs permanent loving homes with qualified owners.
3. Assisting owners of German Shepherd Dogs who can no longer keep them to find them new homes.
4. Working cooperatively with animal shelters and other rescue groups in the community towards our common goals of saving dogs' lives and reducing pet overpopulation.
5. Educating the public about the advantages of adopting dogs from shelters and rescue organizations, and about the need for spaying and neutering dogs.
6. Educating owners and prospective owners of German Shepherd Dogs about their proper care and training, and about other aspects of the breed.

Our adoption fees are $400 for puppies up to 1 year of age, $350 for 1-6 years of age and $200 for 7 years and up.
