Please come and see our adoptable dogs on Wednesdays from 3pm-6pm and Saturdays from 10am-1pm. All other viewings are by appointment.

Our mission is to find good homes for good dogs, and to enforce the laws that safeguard our animals and our community!

The New Britain Animal Control facility takes in close to 300 abandoned dogs every year. We are a municipal facility which is run by dedicated, caring, police officers who spend a lot of time and effort into getting our adoptable dogs into good homes. We are not a no kill shelter. Public safety is our number one concern, and unfortunately not all dogs that come into our facility are adoptable. NEGATIVE COMMENTS, INSULTS, AND RHETORIC WILL NOT BE TOLERATED ON THIS PAGE.

This Facebook page is operated by members of the New Britain Police Department in an effort to find homes for the adoptable dogs at our animal control facility.
