AMMAR - Appalachian Mountain Man-Trailing and Rescue

AMMAR is a small non profit public service incorporation, hound rescue & safe haven, located in Eastern, WV.

AMMAR is a public service incorporation. Appalachian Mountain Man Trailing and Rescue (AMMAR) is dedicated to saving hounds from life threatening shelter situations. Our motto is "Life Over Death and Second Chances are the Best!"
AMMAR also services the public with our BloodHound Man-Trailing capability to assist local emergency management when the need arises. Currently, Appalachian Mountain ManTrailing and Rescue works with two volunteer SAR organizations in eastern WV.
AMMAR also educates the public concerning the BloodHound breed and their amazing abilities of trailing and scent discrimination. We conduct many seminars and in school teaching activities for students and staff alike
Many of the Bloodhounds that we rescue go on to be trained and used for Man-trailing, some for only sport trailing, while others for Search and Rescue work.
