Founded in 2009, Golden Retriever Rescue of Southwest Florida is dedicated to saving golden retrievers and golden mixes in Southwest and Central Florida. We rescue dogs from shelters as well as from owners who are no longer able to keep them. We also work to raise awareness about animal welfare, including the benefits of adopting rescue animals, the need for spaying and neutering, and the importance of heartworm preventative. We conduct regular social and networking events to introduce our breed and our organization to the public. On an international level, we are also committed to rescuing goldens from South Korea, a country where the dog-meat industry still exists and many purebred goldens are in dire need.
