TOGETHER WITH COMPASSION - заедно със състрадание
OUR VISION: We have a 5 year research based strategy to stop the stray dog problem in Vratsa if we can get buy in from local government! To achieve our mission we operate dog (and cat) trap, neuter & return (TNR)*, rescue, treat and adopt 'unreturnables, street feed dogs and cats PLUS deliver education to kids, PR and lobby for change. To date we have 'sterilised' 150+ dogs and cats, got 60+ adopted to safe forever homes abroad, educated 500+ kids. Sadly our plans to build a 'sterilisation' centre in Vratsa have been thwarted but we will continue to monitor progress of the Local Authority. Please help us help the animals in Bulgaria and donate what you can. *TNR with Rabies vaccination along with re-education of human behaviour is the only method PROVEN by the WORLD HEALTH ORGANISATION for Humans and Animals to manage the stray dog populations. KILLING DOESN'T WORK, is cruel & illegal and a waste of money!

Until we stop harming all other living beings, we are still savages. ~Thomas A. Edison
THE PROBLEM: In Bulgaria, animals are generally not considered sentient and thus are discarded, kept on short chains (doorbells!) and are tortured and murdered indiscriminately by the state and individuals. This leads to lots street dogs (roaming owned, discarded and bred on the streets) and thus children in particular are at risk of being attacked, especially as they are not taught how to be safe around dogs. The laws to stop this are now good but the implementation is negligable.
THE ACTION: A group of concerned multinational active volunteers, led by Margaret Robinson from Coventry, came together to better implement the WHO, FBI and other research and laws, help the kids stay safe and improve the lot of the strays and owned dogs and cats in order to sterilize as many as possible and change general perception and treatment of animals.
