We're America's largest No Kill city since 2011! Last year, we saved 96.4% of the 18,000 animals who came through our doors.

With the goal of finding loving homes for all our adoptable pets, we rely on foster families, volunteers, adopters and community and rescue partners to fulfill our mission.

In addition to completing thousands of adoptions each year, we provide a safe place for animals in need, conduct education and outreach programs, and respond to animal-related issues in the community.

Austin Animal Center provides animal sheltering, lost & found, and animal protection services to about 18,000 animals each year including some unique or exotic animals and serves all of Austin City and Travis County.
