Adopt a Boxer Rescue
Adopt a Boxer Rescue operates from CT through the DC metro area. We do not have a central facility - dogs are in private homes or kennels.
***AABR is in dire need of foster homes right now. If you have been thinking about adopting or fostering, we really need your help! If you have adopted from us in the past, you are already approved to foster. If you can help, please let us know right away. We can't take in dogs that need us if we have no where for them to go.****
AABR is especially in need of foster homes who are willing to take dogs in directly from shelter environments. These dogs will almost certainly have kennel cough and need to be isolated from other dogs for 10-14 days. If you can assist in helping us save the dogs who need special care, please complete a foster application today.
Please visit our adoption info page at www.adoptaboxerrescue.com to complete an application to either foster or adopt.
Please understand that not every home will be approved for fostering. Like all reputable rescues, we screen carefully. The health and safety of our dogs is more important to us than avoiding hurt feelings.
We at AABR, believe that a Boxer is just about the perfect friend. However, he or she will demand a lot from you. They'll rely on you for nearly everything; food, water, shelter, protection, training, exercise, grooming, veterinary care, and of course love and companionship. While it is important to choose the right Boxer for your needs, it is equally important to ensure that you can meet theirs. You must prepare for their arrival, and make them a well-mannered and welcome member of your community. The responsibilities of being a guardian of any dog are great, but the love and friendship you'll receive in return is priceless.
When boxers are in need, AABR volunteers respond. Our mission includes hands-on rescue, as well as education. We strive to inform others about the realities of pet ownership, promote neutering, and encourage responsible care. It is our hope that our efforts will enhance the lives of people as well as companion animals. Join us. Help us to help boxers.
