Friends of Farmington, CT Animal Control

The Town of Farmington, CT impounds over 50 dogs and cats each year. It takes a lot of work to evaluate, rehabilitate and place these animals in safe, loving forever homes. Help us help them!

Providing safe and adequate care, veterinary treatment and training to the animals impounded by Town of Farmington until such time as a suitable, safe forever home can be found.

A surprising number of dogs, cats and even small animals are impounded by Farmington Animal Control each year, from strays, to surrenders and seizures. Once these animals are brought to the pound, a long process to finding them a home begins, which includes a full evaluation of their medical and behavioral status, bringing them up to date on vaccinations, spaying or neutering as necessary, and providing any behavioral rehabilitation necessary. While the dogs and cats are not in any danger of being euthanized, there is a lot required to keep them safe and healthy and promote them to find a new forever home. Most important is getting them the exposure they need so someone will fall in love-- forever!
