Rescue Group dedicated to the dogs in the City of Wagoner.

Tall Tails Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization devoted to servin’ the canines of Wagoner City Animal Shelter. We assist pups in distress of any age or breed to the extent our finances will allow. Our Gang spends hours a day at Wagoner City Animal Shelter working to rehabilitate abused and injured canines, so they will one day find loving adoptive homes. We focus on acclimatizing the dogs into quality companions so once they BECOME ADOPTED THEY STAY ADOPTED!
Tall Tails Rescue and Wagoner Animal Control Officer Bo Henson work to get the dogs accustomed to as many environments as possible. Our wish is with each adoption, it will lead to a safe and correct placement every time.
Before a dog can be adopted, each canine is either spayed or neutered, and receives all appropriate veterinary care and treatment. Our adoption process includes: Reference and veterinary checks, a meet n’ greet with the potential dog at a neutral location, a home check, completing our application and contract, and if all requirements are met, a non-refundable donation in the form of an adoption fee. This donation goes towards saving other dogs currently in Tall Tails Rescue or who are still in Wagoner City Animal Shelter.
Tall Tails Rescue is completely made up of unpaid volunteers and a foster based rescue. We do this because of our commitment to the community and for the love of dogs. Tall Tails Rescue continues to educate the public by encouraging responsible pet ownership and doing our best to break down the stereotypes that “shelter dogs” are broken or unfixable, including many “bully” breeds.



Tall Tails Rescue is a group of individuals dedicated to “jailbreaking” the dogs of Wagoner City Animal Shelter. We work exclusively with Wagoner Animal Control Officer Bo Henson to achieve a common goal and to save the forgotten canines.
