BAS is an animal sanctuary for unwanted farm animals whose lives are threatened. We raise awareness of factory farm atrocities while promoting a happier healthier and more humane way of life between humans, animals and the environment.

Broome Animal Sanctuary located in upstate New York is an animal sanctuary and certified wildlife habitat for at risk farm animals. We give sanctuary to unwanted and abandoned farm animals whose lives are threatened or in danger. Our goal is to raise awareness of factory farm atrocities while promoting a happier healthier and more humane way of life between humans animals and the environment.

We are Greg and Tony, a couple together 26 years who both have a lifelong passion to help animals. We’ve rescued 100's of animals and have always said that we would retire to a farm where we can focus on our rescue efforts full-time.

In December of 2013 we purchased 25 acres located in the Town of Broome in the Catskills in upstate New York, the Heart of the Schoharie Valley. It includes a large barn secured by 3 acres of fencing and a few smaller structures that can be converted into climate-controlled shelters.

We have started to live our dream of running an animal sanctuary. Currently, the property is home to 10 pigs (Wattles, Woody, Spence, Tammy, Thaddeus, Primrose, Marigold, LeRoy, Bubbles and Romeo), 2 cows (Bubba & Leda), 2 goats (Mocha & Norman), 3 alpaca (Barry, Robin & Maurice-The Bee Gees), 4 rabbits, 18 Guinea fowl, 60 chickens, 5 peafowl and 15 ducks.

We are devoting our lives to improving the lives of these animals. They are no longer in danger of ending up in a slaughter house. We are committed to raising awareness of factory farm atrocities while promoting a happier healthier and more humane way of life between humans, animals and the environment..
