Our Mission at Cat Haven Rescue is to educate people on free/cheap spay/neuter/rabies/microchipping programs in Austin and the benefits of fixing your cat. Also to help pull from kill shelters and from feral colonies/general public to help keep the cat population in line and to save/improve the lives of defenseless kitties.

Helping to curb the over-population and unnecessary killing of healthy cats and kittens simply because there are too many of them or they have caught a simple URI from shelter intake.. Half of our rescues come from Bastrop Shelter mainly, most sick w/URI and would most likely would have been put down, and the rest come from Austin and surrounding areas, either an owner that can't care for their reproducing pets/needs help getting them fixed, someone who found orphaned kittens or a dumped pet, and sometimes ferals and strays. We specialize mainly in kittens under 3 months but also in pregnant cats and mom cats with kittens.. We have limited room for adults and they costs us a lot more to keep in the rescue so we are limited mainly to only mom cats with nursing kittens and pregnant cats.

Cat Haven Rescue was founded in April of 2012 and as of April 2013, we have rescued around 400 cats and kittens!!!
