To find good homes for Spanish rescue dogs and cats who would otherwise have little chance of adoption.

This page has been set up to link an animal sanctuary in Almeria (South of Spain) with animal lovers in the UK. There are many stray animals in Spain so the sanctuary prioritises rescuing those that are in danger of not surviving on the street. They also rescue from the pound (kill station) when possible.

Although safe in the sanctuary, these dogs and cats would love to have new homes but unfortunately adoption figures are low in Spain and many can spend several years there.
We believe that there are plenty of good people in the UK who could give these adorable animals the home and family they deserve.

How It Works:
1) If you are interested in a dog or cat please PM us to register your interest. Applications from families with children are welcome.

2) We will arrange a home visit to check you are ready for them!

3) Once your home visit is passed, we ask for a 50 euro non-refundable deposit to secure your pet and for peace of mind for them that you really will be their new family! This will be taken off the final cost.

4) We will arrange transportation for you via the registered charity 'For the Love of Dogs & Cats'. The cost of this starts from 250 euros dependent on where you live in the UK.

5) Your pet will be delivered to your home flead, wormed, vet checked, vaccinated, microchipped, with pet passport AND if over 6 months old it will also be neutered.

6) Following the adoption, we will continue to support you with advice on looking after your pet if needed.

Please note - these animals are used to living on dry food and don't need expensive accessories, all they need is a place to call home and a family to love. Remember - a dog is for life and we encourage all adopters to consider the lifetime commitment of a dog or cat as well as their current position to adopt before reserving.
