-- Adopting a friend --

Please call the shelter or visit in person right away if you are interested in adopting any of the pets. Although we try our best to update this page, we cannot guarantee that the information here is up-to-date.

Please note that the shelter is unable to 'hold' animals.

Stray animals taken to the shelter are held for three business days to allow the owner to reclaim the pet. If they are not reclaimed they are available for adoption. Owner surrendered pets are available for adoption or rescue immediately.

The adoption fee is $92.00 for dogs and puppies and $72.00 for cats and kittens.
The adoption fee covers the surgical sterilization, a one year rabies vaccination and a booster vaccination. If the pet is already spayed/neutered, the adoption fee is only $10.

-- Out of State Adoptions --
If you are out-of-state, adoptions can be arranged if:
1. A local foster home can be arranged while transportation is organized;
2. Adopter arranges transportation (there are a number of groups who do this around the country);
3. Animal must be spayed/neutered before transport;
4. Animal must have a rabies certificate and in some cases (depending on location) may need a health certificate (there is an additional fee for this)

(The Shelter is currently working on developing relationships with transport organizations)
