AZSDR is here to help save unwanted, abused, neglected, homeless, and injured/sick puppies and dogs in need. Our goal is to save as many as we can with proper love, care and commitment to the dog above all else. We are the middle ground from homeless, to forever home, giving the dog a stepping stone to get to the loving arms of their forever owners.

AZSDR was started by one person who wanted to help dogs in need, taking in one at a time and finding a home for them, one dog turned to two, then ten, then more than one house could hold, and more than one person could care for, so AZSDR shelter was created to not only help the dogs in need but to supply jobs for people who love dogs and want to make a difference.

Welcome to AZ Small Dog Rescue, a non profit registered 501(C)3 No Kill Rescue Group. We are a group of volunteers that have dedicated our lives to rescuing and saving homeless, unwanted, abandoned, neglected, and abused dogs and even cats too! We are partnered with Maricopa County Animal Care and Control and Yuma Humane Society where we save most of our animals. We do accept owner surrenders and stray surrenders when space is available. To submit a request to surrender an animal, please use our online submittal form at www.azsmalldog.org/surrender, and someone will be in contact with you if we have space to accept the animal and to arrange an appointment for evaluation. We spay/neuter, vaccinate, microchip, and medically examine ALL DOGS that come into our rescue (each adoption includes 30 days of free pet insurance and a free vet visit to a choice of many different vet office). We have many dogs turned in every week and always have a wide variety of available dogs that would fit into all families and homes.
