General Information
HOLDS
"Stray" hold is a 72 hour hold, before the hold is up the dog will be evaluated and the then either listed as Adoptable, added to the E-List, or put on an additional hold. The dog will not be allowed to be taken out for a "Meet and Greet". You can take down the A number and go to the front desk and ask for more information and possibly put your name on him/her as interested.
"Hold & Notify" status means some sort of identification has been found and MCACC is using the information they have on file, or on the dog, to contact the owners. Unfortunately information is not always updated by the owners. I believe the hold is between 72 and 120 hours. If the owners are found and they surrender the dog, then the hold is over.
"Owner Surrenders" are considered "Brown Holds". They are usually given a 24hr hold time, but can be shorter as the owner has given up all rights to the dog and he/she has becomes a ward of the shelter. The dogs are evaluated and then changed to Adoptable or added to the E-List, or put back on "Brown Hold".
Owner Surrender or "Brown Holds" are loaded online to Petharbor and the dogs information will not be accessible. The state of Arizona has a law stating that if someone finds a dog and holds him/her for 6 days, while looking for the owner, they then become the owner. The dog is then turned in as Owner Surrender Stray.

Mylars
White- Intake, every dog should have one.
Yellow- Adopted
Red- Halo Animal Rescue will be taking after hold is up.
Blue- AHS (Humane Society) will be taking after hold is up.
Lavendar- AAWL will be taking after hold is up.
Green- Spayed/Neutered at the shelter and ready to go.
---------------------------------------------------
HALO ANIMAL RESCUE
Dogs with "Red" mylars around their neck are tagged to go to Halo Animal Rescue, a rescue at the same facility. If I see one on while doing a video I often try to mention it. If tagged for Halo the dog will be adoptable through them once the hold is up and if owners do not claim within the "Hold" time. This can change before the dog's hold is up so always call and ask the status if you are interested in the dog. Once Halo does the paperwork for the dog it is moved over to their side to await being spayed/neutered, micro-chipped, it may be a day or so before the dog is in their system for adoption.

E-LIST
FASA (Friends of the Arizona Shelter) Showcases the dogs that are on the E-List. You can click on the Friends of the Arizona Shelter picture on the video thread to follow the status of the dog or pledge to help.
The FASA link is the place where a Courtesy Pull can be requested if you want to have the dog removed from the list for the day so you can go meet the next day. These are precious so if you do request and get one on the thread please go meet the dog. Even if the dog is not the right one, there are many others you can meet while down there and the dog will get a reprieve from the kennel.
