Dahlia is available for adoption!
Dahlia is a year old and 42 lbs. She came to us from a Louisiana shelter. She was terrified of humans, but has come a long way since coming into the rescue and has made even more progress since arriving at her foster home in New Hampshire. She comes up to her foster mom for treats now and enjoys getting attention and affection. Dahlia is a collector of toys. She doesn't destroy them. She just likes to be surrounded by them! She is still learning that food will consistently be provided so she can be greedy with food. She is not aggressive at all, but will eat everyone's food so she is being fed separately for now.
Dahlia is a pretty quiet hound, but is very vocal when playing which she LOVES to do! She is very timid around men and is well on her way to being house trained. Dahlia will be a wonderful addition to a home once she becomes comfortable there. Dahlia's perfect home will have a securely fenced yard, another active dog to play with, a woman as the main caregiver, no young children and a patient adopter who will allow her the time and space to blossom into the dog we know she wants to be! Dahlia is available for visits.
Fred’s available for adoption!!!
Fred was found as a stray with his sister in rural Virginia and brought to New England in September. He weighs around 30 lbs at 8 months old, and has the beautiful coloring of a redtick coonhound. Fred is a shy pup who will do best in a calm environment with a consistent routine, and will surely flourish with the companionship of a confident dog. Fred loves to play and snuggle with other dogs. Fred has been boarding at a local doggie daycare and has shown us that he'll come out of his shell with some patience as he learns to trust and bond with the humans in his life. He's comfortable with the staff members there and is comfortable with petting and interaction. Even though Fred was found with his sister, it is best for his development that they are separated, however his adoptive home must have another confident dog. Fred requires a home without young children in a quiet suburban or rural environment. Underneath Fred's scared exterior, there is an affectionate and playful pup just waiting for his furever family to help him be a happy and confident hound.
Foster or Adopter Needed For Bam Bam!!
Bam Bam is coming back into the rescue and is in need of a foster or adopter. Bam Bam is 5 years old. He developed Idiopathic Epilepsy about a year and a half ago. He is currently on medication twice a day and will need to remain on medication in order to control the seizures.
Bam Bam lives with another beagle and two young children in his current home. He gets along well with his doggie sister and likes to play. He has not been socialized much outside the home due to COVID and has developed some leash aggression; barking at other dogs and pulling on the leash. He will need some work to curb this new behavior. He does best with dogs his size or larger. He will not do well in a home with a smaller dog, cats or other critters.
He is a typical vocal beagle and uses his voice to engage in play and to alert his family to anything outside or loud noises. Bam Bam is friendly and engaging. He is playful and really enjoys playing fetch. He loves food. Bam Bam would prefer a home without young children as sometimes he doesn't feel up to the activity level.
If you are interested in helping Bam Bam, please submit an application and we will be in touch.

Ethel is available for adoption!
Ethel was found as a stray with her brother in rural Virginia and brought to New England in September. She is a tri-color coonhound who weighs about 30 lbs at 8 months old. Ethel was initially shy when she arrived at boarding, but quickly blossomed as she got to know her caretakers and the other dogs. She is easily food motivated, and loves to play play play! She has learned to be affectionate with her caretakers, and has warmed up to the volunteers with whom she regularly interacts (when they bring tasty treats of course!). Ethel was not socialized as a puppy, so even though she has become comfortable with her temporary home, she will still require patience as she settles into her furever home and learns to trust her new humans. It will be best for Ethel's development that she and her brother are separated, however her adoptive home must have another confident dog to help her along. Ethel requires a home without young children in a quiet suburban or rural environment.
Come and visit us at Long Subaru in Webster MA from 10-2 today!
Welcome Home Gabe!
After being treated for marajuana toxicity and several months of heartworm treatment, Gabe was finally cleared to travel to Massachusetts. He was adopted this weekend by a wonderful family who has experience with a blind dog. He is settling in incredibly well and is already learning the layout of the house and yard. Thank you to his adopters for welcoming him and making all the necessary adjustments to keep him safe. Thank you to Dee and Tracie, our Virginia fosters for caring for him while he was there and thank you to Alaina and Jamison, our fosters in Pennsylvania who cared for him through his heartworm treatment. It truly does take a village! We are grateful to all who made it possible for us to help this sweet boy.
Loki is a 3 yr, 84 lb old male redbone coonhound who is looking for a new home. Loki is friendly and likes attention from people; he's good with other dogs, and has lived with children. He's had obedience training and knows 'sit', 'down', and 'paw'. He is housebroken. Loki has been rehomed a couple of times through no fault of his own. His last home was in an apartment where his loud bark was disturbing to neighbors. Loki is a good dog and he'll make a great companion. If interested, please email necoonhoundrescue@gmail.com
FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED FOR RALPH!
Ralph is going to be homeless again in 19 days. His foster will be travelling and it's time for him to find a Forever Home. We are desperately seeking a home for this young foxhound. Ralph is friendly, affectionate and will be fine as an only dog, or with a confident dog his size. He's housebroken and knows some commands ( sit, wait, off). He enjoys romping in a fenced yard and playing with his toys - he's happy to hang out with his people at home. Ralph will do best with an experienced dog owner who can give him some structure and reassurance. He'll be a sweet and affectionate companion. If interested, please contact us at necoonhoundrescue@gmail.com
