Native Animal Rescue - Waalbiirniny

NAR-Waalbiirniny is a Busselton based community group working to establish a wildlife rescue and rehabiltation centre for the south west region.

Native Animal Rescue (NAR) is a not-for-profit, non government incorporated body dedicated to the rehabilitation & release of sick, injured, orphaned & displaced native animals.

Waalbiirniny, ( pronounced wal-bur-nin=ee ) in the local indigenous language of the Wardandi people means "To Heal". Waalbiirniny Wildlife Shelter Inc was established in 2013 with the goal of building a wildlife hospital and rehabilitation centre that could support the efforts of our local wildlife carers.
In December 2014, a decision was made by the Waalbiirniny committee and membership to merge with and become a branch of the Native Animal Rescue, Western Australia.(www.nativeanimalrescue.org.au/)
Our work now continues with the support of NAR's successful and well respected model.
