To rescue pound animals on 'death row' and take them to their forever home!

Leah's Pawsitive Future is a registered Charitable organisation and animal rescue where we take in the ‘death row’ pets, strays, surrendered animals, and just anyone who needs a second chance at life.

Donations are now Tax Deductible! :D

Our Rescue has a strict No-Kill policy which means the animals we take in will always be safe and sound with us. The only point in which we will exercise this policy would be if our vets have found their condition so severe that their quality of life is dismal.

The rescued animals are given veterinary treatments (de-sexing, micro chipping, vaccinations etc), they are litter trained and subject to copious amounts of cuddles. We then temperament test them with children and other animals, then allowing them to be adopted by the family they deserve once they are 12 weeks of age.

We work alongside Kippax Veterinary Hospital for any/all veterinary treatments. We also collaborate with the Miss-U-Motel team, who take care of our little darlings should we ever need a cat hotel handy!

Our adoption fees based on the veterinary fees. We work on a 'forever family' basis where we pair the kitten with the family. To allow a smooth transition for these kittens, we provide a 14 day trial before the official adoption commences, where you can pay a $50 deposit fee which is nonrefundable.
The typical timeline goes like this:
- take part in a meet and greet and select the right kitten for you, plan trial date
- take part in optional Blanky Exchange 3-7 days before trial, to allow kitten to settle in new environment
- take kitten for trial adoption and place nonrefundable deposit fee

After the trial period is up you are given the option to (if you haven't already fallen in love) give back the kitty if they weren't a fluid fit for your family, or continue with the formal adoption by completing adoption payments and microchipping change of ownership.

Donations are welcomed in any form (we cant say no to some kitty bickies), so please feel free to request the rescues bank details for any deposits.

We are located in Belconnen, Canberra and have foster carers in south Canberra. We also have a Rescue representative in Mittagong who helps us with adoptions and all sorts of promotions. Stay tuned for exciting new adventures, kittens, and all sorts of surprises that come with owning a rescue!
