Habitat For Humanity Restore Hayden

North Idaho Habitat for Humanity Restore sells furniture, windows, doors, plumbing, appliances, bathroom fixtures, tile and so much more!

Many Habitat affiliates operate Habitat ReStores which are retail outlets where quality used and surplus building materials and home furnishings are sold well below normal prices. The proceeds from the ReStore help our local Habitat fund the construction of homes.
In addition, our ReStore also sells used appliances and furniture. Often we have donations of new items, it's always good to come by and see what's new!!
By purchasing merchandise from our ReStore, you are also helping the environment by recycling good usable materials.

ReStore History
The store started in a small red barn at 16th and Hanley and did a surprisingly good trade though it had irregular hours.
Habitat for Humanity of North Idaho needed larger office space and so decided to rent space on Seltice Way for both offices and the ReStore. This new location enabled the ReStore to sell the donated items on a regular basis. The Board expectations were pleasantly exceeded as it was thought that the ReStore would gross $62,000 that first year, when in fact it grossed over $113,000! This enabled us to help more families build their homes. In just one year, we had outgrown the 3,000 sq. ft. building and needed a new place to call home.
The Ziggys store at Wyoming and Highway 95 was vacant – it was 16,000 sq ft with excellent highway exposure and accessibility and could easily house both the growing Restore and office needs. The terms and conditions offered by the owner were very generous and simple. Habitat could rent the building for one year to see if it was feasible and could leave at any time without penalty.
After one year, it was clear that it was working and so plans were put into action to acquire the land and building. Through the Rural Development Agency of the US Department of Agriculture, the Rural Development Agency issued a 90% guarantee on a loan to Habitat for Humanity of North Idaho and Panhandle State Bank offered generous terms on a mortgage. Habitat for Humanity of North Idaho is now purchasing the building and land at 176 West Wyoming Avenue that houses both the ReStore and the office space.
The ReStore continues to be successful thanks to our customers and donors.
