Our mission is to prevent cruelty and promote kindness to companion animals in our community.
We are committed to stopping the euthanasia of healthy, adoptable pets by ending overpopulation and homelessness. To achieve this, we provide quality shelter, spay/neuter, foster care, adoption, and re-homing services for companion animals in our community. We provide spay/neuter and humane education, animal control services, and cruelty and neglect investigation services to ensure that companion animals have home with responsible, committed and loving caregivers.

Happy Tails From Agi (FKA Tessa)
Life without a pet, well we can't imagine it and neither can Agi's Mom:
"She is the fastest pup at the dog park and has made lots of new friends. Her recall is amazing - Even when she spots ducks, birds, rabbits, and squirrels! She’s learning new commands so fast. She comes to work with me often in the store and has been well loved among staff and guests. She is the ultimate distraction when I have work to do on my laptop, but it is very welcomed. She’s been a rock star on mini road trips and we look forward to lots of hikes and camping adventures. I can’t imagine my life without her 💜"
We can't imagine life without wonderful adopters like Agi's family!

7 Ways to Make the Holidays Safer for Pets🐈🐕
Nothing can spoil holiday cheer like an emergency visit to a veterinary clinic. These seven tips can help prevent a holiday disaster with your pets.
🐾Keep people food out of the reach of your pet, and ask your guests to do the same.
🐾Make sure your pet doesn't have any access to treats, especially those containing chocolate, xylitol, grapes/raisins, onions or other toxic foods.
🐾Don't leave your pet alone in the room with lit candles, a decorated tree or potpourri.
🐾Keep holiday plants (especially holly, mistletoe and lillies) out of reach of pets.
🐾Consider leaving the tinsel off your tree if you have a cat.
🐾Secure your Christmas tree to keep it from falling over if your dog bumps it or your cat climbs it. Hanging lemon-scented car air fresheners in the tree may deter your cat from climbing it.
🐾Provide a safe place for your pet to escape the excitement (such as a kennel, crate, perching place, scratching post shelf or hiding place) if you’re entertaining guests. If your pet is excitable or scared, consider putting your pet in another room with some toys and a comfortable bed.

Meet Wonderful Ryker!
Ryker is a four-year-old white husky who is as pretty as he is sweet and a dream to walk on a leash. A pretty easy-going guy, Ryker has made large and small doggy friends at the shelter, but like some of us, he can be selective about his best buds, so a dog intro is recommended. Ryker looks to his people to let him know the world is a safe place. A fenced yard and easy walks, no marathons required, and this guy will be happy!
Want to make Ryker's day?! Call 208.788.4351 or email adoptions@mountainhumane.org for a meet and greet!
