Epona Sanctuary is a permanent home and safe harbor for animals who have been at risk for neglect, abuse, and death at the hands of owners or shelters.
Epona Sanctuary provides a permanent home for unwanted equines of various ages and breeds regardless of soundness and suitability for use. The facility rehabilitates abused or neglected equines; thus, most of Epona’s residents are those in need of continual special physical, feeding and/or medical care. With these available resource requirements, Epona provides training and education for new horse owners in basic handling, care and maintenance of horses, and the treatment of various illnesses. It also assists existing owners with rehabilitating their horses for improved quality of life and usability. Although not its primary focus, usable equines will be re-homed to suitable situations.
