The Kershaw County Humane Society is dedicated to providing food, housing, and medical care of all lost or homeless animals brought to the Kershaw County Humane Society, and to address the root causes of animal abuse and over population through education and spay/neuter programs.


The Walter M. Crowe Animal Shelter was founded in 1970, by the Rev. Walter M. Crowe of Bethesda Presbyterian Church. In 1999, the Kershaw County Humane Society took over the management and operations of the shelter.
