Fostering Foster Animal Rescue

Fostering Foster Animal Rescue is dedicated to saving companion pets. We are located in Kershaw County, S.C. and rely solely on foster homes to save lives.

The mission and vision for Fostering Foster Animal Rescue(FFAR) is to save dogs of all sizes and all breeds by partnering with other humane, no kill rescues, animal leagues, foundations and shelters to ensure that they are placed into loving, forever homes.

We are a volunteer, foster home based, certified 501(c)(3) dog rescue organization based in the midlands of South Carolina. We operate primarily through our foster homes, partnerships with other humane no kill organizations, online databases and at adoption events/expos.

The majority of our animals come from animal control groups and open admission shelters throughout South Carolina, or the Southeast, where overcrowding and overpopulation lead to the euthanasia of thousands of healthy, friendly pets every year.

We are committed to providing the dogs that come into Fostering Foster Animal Rescue with the best possible care while they wait for their forever homes by acclimating them to life outside of a shelter and providing the appropriate veterinary care needed.

We also serve our community and adopters by educating and encouraging responsible pet ownership with an emphasis on the need for spaying and neutering. We do our best to break down the known stereotypes of many breeds.

We will never euthanize an animal due to space or time constraints. Fostering Foster Animal Rescue may elect to euthanize in the event of a severe, untreatable/debilitating illness or extremely dangerous behavioral concerns. Due to limitations of space and available foster homes we cannot take in every animal that needs help.

Because our foster homes are the backbone of Fostering Foster Animal Rescue, and to help our organization run smoothly, it is our goal to provide the best experience possible. We encourage each foster home to be as involved as they are comfortable with and allow them the freedom to foster based on their needs, restrictions, or desires.

Fostering Foster Animal Rescue was founded by Andrea Walker and a close knit group of devoted animal rescuers that were determined to make a difference in their community.

Fostering Foster Animal Rescue is a volunteer based nonprofit. We are dedicated to rescuing animals, primarily dogs, that are in southern kill shelters and that are in desperate need of help. We know that spay and neuter is one way to reduce the number of animals on death row in shelters. We primarily collaborate with northern rescues, shelters and animal leagues to save as many lives as possible. We rely solely on foster homes to help us save lives and donations to keep us funded. The more foster homes and supporters that we have the more lives we can save.

We believe that all dogs have tales to tell and we believe in giving them the chance to wag their tails. All dogs deserve to be loved and cherished and to enrich the lives of their humans. Through community involvement and social awareness we know that one day every dog will have a home.

Our founder's very first foster dog was Foster- this rescue's mascot- and boy, oh, boy does Foster have some tales to tell, like how he stole Andrea's heart and became her forever boy. Twelve years later, Foster and Andrea are still fostering, have developed a large local fostering community and have saved many lives. This is Foster's page, this is your page, this is OUR page. Let's celebrate all things dog and save the many lives that are depending on us. Here at Fostering Foster Animal Rescue we promote rescue, fostering and adoption, and celebrate all things DOG!
