Rutherford County Animal Control Services

Providing animal control assistance to the animals and public of Rutherford County

Our public hours are:
Monday through Friday 10am-4pm

Our mission is to adopt out and foster as many animals as we can in an effort to drastically reduce the amount of euthanasias throughout the county. With the help of you and the amazing rescue groups that we are working with (both in the state and surrounding states), we are hoping that we can find more homes for these animals than we have ever done before!

We also aim to help educate the public in matters such as vaccination protocols, the importance of yearly veterinary visits, parasite control, and spaying and neutering. Through this page and other public education events, we will provide as much current, accurate information as we can.

We have many, many fun events and ideas ahead of us in the upcoming year and we hope to see you there!

As many of you may or may not know, the Rutherford County Animal Shelter has been passed through a number of hands throughout the years. The shelter's story has had its ups and downs, and as this new chapter unfolds we hope to regain the county's trust and respect in our abilities to save as many of these lives as we can. Great changes are underway and coming soon, so stay tuned!
