Middletown NY Humane Society
The Middletown Humane Society is a Low/No Kill, privately run animal shelter in Middletown, N.Y., serving the City of Middletown as well as surrounding communities.
Located in the Town of Wallkill, the Humane Society of Middletown serves the City of Middletown and surrounding communities. It started in 1959 when a handful of people with big hearts and small purses formed an animal shelter on the south side of Middletown. In 1963, it moved to the north side of Middletown. We are a privately run shelter guided by a board of directors and do not receive funding from any other humane society or government agency. We receive strays and animals turned in by their owners. We give the animals as much time as we can to be adopted into a good and permanent home, and try to make their stay at the shelter as pleasant and comfortable as we can. We also offer group and private cremations. We have a euthanasia technician at the shelter on Tuesdays and Wednesdays if this service is needed (excluding summer time). Please call to make an appointment for this.
