Long Island Wildlife & Animal Rescue - LIWAR

Long Island Wildlife & Animal Rescue (LIWAR) and Massapequa Pet Vet have a 501(3)(c) dedicated to treating and rehabilitation of wildlife and animals.

Long Island Wildlife & Animal Rescue (LIWAR) is a not-for-profit group 501(3)(c) established to care for, treat, perform surgery and save wildlife throughout Long Island, New York.

LIWAR and Massapequa Pet Vet have provided the community with veterinary care for wildlife and rehabilitation for the past 24 years. We work with numerous municipalities including the police, the Bay Constables, various shelters, licensed rehabilitators, concerned residence, and numerous rescue groups.

Dr. Ned Horowitz, Donna Terris and others formed LIWAR to help defray some of the extensive overhead costs. At this time, Massapequa Pet Vet expends close to $200,000 annually to treat these injured animals in our community. Please help us with your generous and compassionate, tax-deductible donation for this desperately needed to cause.

We need your help and contributions to continue our mission and goals in providing this desperately needed service to those who can't speak for themselves. LIWAR annually saves hundreds of squirrels, opossums, raccoons turtles, hawks and falcons, foxes, pigeons, seagulls, geese, ducks, swans...

Please help us with our future goal of acquiring land and funds for a wildlife nature medical center to treat, house and rehabilitate these animals in desperate need.
