The Mad Critters Petting Zoo and Rescue is here to help any and all animals that need a home because they are unwanted or unable to be cared for.

The Mad Critters Petting Zoo and Rescue was started at the Twin Bridges / Madison County fair in 2008. Each year the petting zoo and rescue have grown increasingly larger and better every year. In the last two years years the petting zoo and rescue have started to really expand from adding more room for the animals to adding more and exciting types of animals ranging from the cute and cudely to the slimy and slithery kinds.With that being said we do not keep every animal that is turned over to us or that we have brougt in on a rescue. We try to do our best to place any and all animals in new and forever loving homes. Since our opening in 2010 we have rehomed over 100 kittens / cats, 90 puppies / dogs, 125 rabbits, 2 lizards, 2 frogs 14 turtles, 39 guinea pigs, 3 Ferrets and many other animals from cows and horses to small hamsters. All animals we bring in are vet checked and are made sure to have a clean bill of health. Each year we do different types of activities like silent auctions and raffles to help us raise money to help us feed and care for these animals and expand our range of travel for who we can help.There are currently 6 Staff members that help care for and love the animals that come in. We are in the currently trying to raise enough money so we can get a 501 3c that will make us a nonprofit group and to buy a truck and trailer to aid in the recovery of some of our larger animals.
