To reduce the pet overpopulation epidemic by offering low-cost spaying and neutering services to residents of Iron County, Missouri.

Although we no longer have an animal shelter in Iron County, the Iron County Circle of Life Humane Society was originally established in December 1999, by Sister Geralyn Klenke. It operated as an animal shelter until May 2006, when Sister Geralyn became extremely ill and the former Board of Directors was unable to sustain funding and support for the shelter.

The current Board of Directors took over and decided to tackle the pet overpopulation problem from the "other end:" by preventing pregnancy by spaying and neutering pets with a low-cost alternative for Iron County residents, regardless of economic situation.

Because we were no longer an animal shelter, we created the name COLARS (the Circle of Life Animal Rescue Society) and dubbed our low-cost program S.N.Y.F.F. -- Spay/Neuter Your Furry Friends.
