We also work closely and in cooperation with Bossier City Animal Control. In October 2012, Ninna visited Bossier City Animal Control offering our assistance in helping their animals in finding homes or rescue. With their blessing, Ninna created a Facebook page "Friends of Bossier City Animal Control" and recruited three people to assist her with going in 3-4 times a week for photos of the animals in need. Since our involvement, their euthanasia rate has dropped drastically and their adoptions have sky-rocketed.
BCAC provides a valuable service to this area and we are happy and honored to be associated with them. Visit the Friends of Bossier City Animal Control Facebook page at: www.facebook.com/BCACadoptables

NOT YET TAKING APPLICATIONS – NOT YET AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION
NEW INTAKE 11/29/2021: Dimma - female - approx DOB 10/4/2021 - current weight 3.2 pounds - Chihuahua
Reason for intake: We were in a trailer park picking up a dog from an owner who contacted us for help. While visiting with him, he told us about two puppies that his neighbor was trying to find a home for. He took us to the neighbor's home and the neighbor surrendered both puppies to us. We asked him if we could pay to have his male neutered since he was the daddy and there were other females in the home. He agreed and was thankful and it is being arranged with one of our vets. We've named the two female puppies Dimma and Limma Lim and they will stay with us until they receive at least two rounds of vaccinations. We will post them for adoption soon.
NOT TAKING APPLICATIONS: We are not taking applications yet. We will post when s(he) is ready for adoption. In the interest of fairness, EARLY application submissions will NOT be considered. Please note… we cannot respond to messages/emails, etc., on dogs that are NOT yet available for adoption. Please wait until the dog is available for adoption. We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

NEW INTAKE 11/29/2021: Marilynn - female - 5 years old - 8.7 pounds - long-haired Chihuahua
Reason for intake: We were contacted by the Union Humane Society about this little girl. Her owner is moving into a nursing home and she needed placement IMMEDIATELY. We agreed to take her and left right away to Farmerville to pick her up. What a doll but she is so scared right now. She just cowers. We will love her out of being scared. We always do. She has to go to our vet first to get some things done including a heartworm test, etc. We will post more when she's ready for adoption. Stay tuned.

OLLIE ADOPTED: 11-28-2021💜
Bob & Barbara lost their wonderful and amazing boy Marley a few months ago. Marley was an Aussie/Rottweiler mix and a sweet loving boy.
His loss hit them hard.
Barbara started looking for another large breed dog, she missed having one, they do have 2 medium size boys, Henry and Oscar, but there is just something about a large breed.
Ollie popped up on the computer screen and Barbara knew Ollie was “The One”, he’s an Aussie mix who is going to help the family heal.
Ollie already has so much love to give and now he also has an entire beach front territory. Good thing, because he loves the water and picking up sticks who knows what trinkets he will surprise his family with.
Crystal and Renna are beach tourists that were kind enough to take the new family’s photo. #BeachLife #HisBeach #Active #MoreThanEnoughRoom #Spay/NeuterYourPets #HeartwormPreventionSavesLives #MicrochipYourPets #CommitToYourPets #LoveYourPets #VaccinateYourPets

She is going to be very loved and spoiled, which is what every dog deserves! She may even have a tiara in her future! Biography: We were contacted by a rescue-friend about this little girl. The owner has a lot going on and didn't know where to turn. He posted her on Facebook marketplace for free. His neighbor found out about it and she contacted a rescue friend who in turn contacted us and here she is! She is a sweet and quiet little girl. It appears she’s had litters in the past, but that is her past because she is spayed now. She does excellent in a kennel and she walks ok on a leash. She bonds quickly to whoever is showing her attention. She’s a sweetheart and we know she won’t be with us long.
11/27/2021
Doowop (female)
Intake date: 11/15/2021
Yorkie/Poodle mix
Approx 1 year old
9.14 pounds
Adoption fee: $200, which includes vetting, microchip and microchip enrollment fee
Good with other dogs: yes
Cats: yes
Vetting: altered (spayed/neutered), UTD on shots, heartworm negative, fecal negative, body shave-down at vet and in-house groom to clean up face, on monthly flea/tick and heartworm prevention, microchipped
Health issues: none found
Temperament: very sweet and bonds quickly; dominant personality
Energy level: low-medium
Groom needs: High; requires regular professional grooming, along with intermittent brushing to avoid matting (NOTE: Grooming is a challenge. She came to us heavily matted as if she’s never seen sheers or scissors in her life. She would scream – REALLY SCREAM – when handled to be groomed so we let our vet shave down her body. We worked on her face and ears and around her eyes at the rescue. Again, she would scream SO we decided to put her in the tub and sort of throw her off guard and IT WORKED! We wet her face and had the shower nozzle going the whole time on her neck as we worked on her face to rid her of the matting. Having said that, she’ll need an adopter who has a patient groomer to help her with this. We recommend giving her a mild tranquilizer prior to grooming. You can get that from your vet or have her groomed at a vet clinic. We believe over time she will get used to being groomed and it won’t be such a challenge. It’s just a matter of getting her comfortable to it.)
Biography: Doowop came to us from Bossier City Animal Control. Doowop was given to a relative who, from what we gathered, put her in the back yard. We're not sure how long she lived like that but based upon her age and her condition, we believe it was most of her life and we believe she’d never had a groom. When she first came to us she was very jumpy and would scream when handled or approached. She’s overcome that as you can see in her video. Just like with us, she will take some time to get accustomed to her new home.

NEW INTAKE 11/26/2021: Spruce - male - 2 years old - 6.14 pounds - Maltese/Yorkie mix
Reason for intake: Spruce came to us as an owner surrender. The owner contacted us because they have three small children in the home and Spruce was very overwhelmed and anxious. They wanted to do what was best for him. Some dogs just don't like small children and they didn't want something to happen. It was a very difficult decision for them so please no negative comments. Spruce needs a home where he can be comfortable without children. He is neutered and we will determine the rest of his vetting next week when we receive vet records. If he is behind on anything or needs a heartworm test, we will take care of all of that. We were advised that when he was younger, he broke both front legs when jumping off of the couch onto tile floor. One leg has a metal plate in it. The other leg healed on its own after spruce wore a cast for about 8 weeks. According to his former owner, he hasn't had any issues with either leg since then.
