Orangeburg County Animal Control and Shelter serves the citizen of Orangeburg County. We work to protect the animals as well as the citizen of the county.


Our mission is to insure that people are treating the animals with love and compassion by enforcing county and state laws. By providing temporary shelter to the strays, the abandoned, and the surrendered animals of the county it is our hope that each of these animals will find a permanent suitable and loving new homes. We encourage responsible pet ownership and recognize that this is a key component to making a better world for the animals of Orangeburg County.

Orangeburg County Animal Control and Shelter is responsible for picking up animals in the county that are lost or homeless. We strive to get animals into rescues by working with local rescue groups to find placement of these animals. We work to ensure that animals in the entire county are being treated properly. This includes investigating cruelty charges and working with law enforcement to prosecute these cases.
