Habitat for Humanity of Marion County Iowa

As an ecumenical Christian organization, we work toward eliminating substandard housing and empowering families in the Marion County area and around the world.

Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.

We build simple, decent, affordable houses for families whose income is between 30% and 60% of the area median income. Homes are not given away, but are purchased by low-income, hard-working families who contribute at least 250 hours of sweat equity, through building their own home, other Habitat houses, or volunteering in the local community. Homeowners pay monthly mortgage payments to HFHMCI which are then used to build more homes.
