Monroe County Humane Association

Responsibly and compassionately protecting, advocating and educating for animal welfare since 1956. We are not the shelter.

The mission of the Monroe County Humane Association is to compassionately protect, advocate and educate for animal welfare.

MCHA is dedicated to promoting the welfare of animals, strengthening the human-animal bond, and providing access to humane education across our community.

To accomplish our mission, we:
• Implement a thorough humane education platform that reaches youth and adults across the community;
• Offer direct low-cost veterinary services to help animals and animal owners;
• Offer veterinary assistance funding for both the prevention of unwanted litters of puppies and kittens and in extreme injury/illness circumstances;
• Coordinate a team of dog-handler volunteer therapy teams into the community to share the benefits of the human-animal bond;
• Coordinate resources, and trap-neuter-return assistance for caretakers of feral or outdoor cats

The MCHA is a 501c3 non-profit organization fully funded by private donations.
