🐈🏁❤ "Songbird sweet and sour Jane and music is my aeroplane. It's my aeroplane." ❤🐈🏁 AERO (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Aeroplane)

AERO is a 6 year old domestic short hair kitty taken in as a sick stray on 2/5/21. He was severely emaciated, jaundiced and had an upper respiratory infection. Taken into foster care, Aero's health has greatly improved, he's now a normal weight and has returned to CCHS where he's doing fantastic in the free roam room. He's an independent guy whose top two priorities are conversation and recreation. Aero loves to talk and enjoys being talked to. His favorite activity in the free roam area is a ball in a track that he plays with daily. Aero also enjoys sitting in windowsills, has a limit of 2 pets, after which he will bite you, and isn't particularly keen on being held. Some people don't like hugs and some cats don't like to be held. It doesn't mean either is unaffectionate, they simply have preferences. If an athletic, playful, conversationalist kitty is your type, then Aero is the fella for you. His adoption fee is $70 and helps cover his neuter, vaccinations, worming, monthly heart worm and flea preventive, microchip and care while at CCHS.

(Apparently Aero feels his right side is his best side to photograph! 😂 Before snapping the last two photos, Aero was actually laying in the middle of that track, resting from the euphoria of having a ball! Of course he couldn't lay there long enough to capture it with the camera.)

🐕🌷 DOG OF THE WEEK - BROOKLYN 🌷🐕

BROOKLYN has been a resident at CCHS for 674 days, almost 2 years!

Two months ago, we took Brooklyn out to get some updated photos. Here for almost 2 years now, her coat looks great and of course the bite wounds and lacerations she had at intake have healed. Other than that, this amazing girl hasn't changed. Unfortunately, the day turned out to be riddled with clouds, sleet and snow showers. While it cut our time short, Brooklyn didn't mind the weather. She had a blast literally trying to catch the sleet and snowflakes in the air and as they hit the ground. Brooklyn's a clown and we had a great time with her. Just wish the weather would have been more cooperative.

BROOKLYN is a 3-4 year old Terrier taken in as an injured stray on 6/6/19. She had several bite wounds, lacerations and a severe ear infection at intake, which have all been treated. Sweeter than candy, this darling is calm, gentle and sometimes sensitive and timid. Brooklyn's an excellent walker who sits on command, for treats or toys. She loves to play fetch, catch and enjoys taking walks with her toy in her mouth. Tennis balls are her favorite. Some dogs can barely contain their excitement over treats or toys, but Brooklyn's one of the special ones whose eyes do all the talking. We'll never know if she was running to or away from something, but we're certain she'll make a fast, loyal friend. She prefers a home where she's the only dog. Brooklyn's adoption fee is $150 and covers her spay, worming, vaccinations, microchip, monthly heart worm, flea and tick preventive and care while at CCHS. If you're seeking a special girlfriend, Brooklyn won't disappoint!

🐈🍀 UPDATE on one of our tiny, yet mighty kittens, RIZZO 🍀🐈

RIZZO is doing well following his leg amputation surgery yesterday! YAHOO! He'll be spending the weekend at the vet, then return to foster care for a few weeks to recuperate before returning to the shelter, ready for adoption. Since he was so young at intake, we needed to wait until he was 4 months old and weighed at least 4 lbs. As soon as he met both thresholds, we scheduled him an appt. for surgery. The first picture is the week he arrived and the second is 3 months ago. To all who donated to his care, thank you so much!!!

RIZZO, 5 weeks old at intake, was taken in as an injured stray on 11/12/20. His right back leg, either due to birth defect or injury, doesn't bend or function properly. Since his intake, Rizzo has been spoiled by his foster mom and family. Living in a home, instead of confined to a kennel, he's been free to develop, grow and learn. In other words, this feisty little guy has not been slowed down one iota due to his bum leg. Before being taken into foster, Rizzo had abundant gusto and loads of personality - he still has no shortage of either. We'll keep you posted.

Heads up! On Sat., 3/27/21, we're offering reduced adoption fees on ALL our Senior residents, both dogs ($40) and cats ($20). You can catch up on their bios either on Facebook or Petfinder.

Seniors are every bit as amazing and fantastic as all our other adoptable residents. Some of the advantages of adopting a Senior pet include: most are already housebroken, no need to worry about kittens climbing curtains or puppies chewing up your furniture or baseboards, what you see is what you get (you won't have to guess about how big your pet will get), and no matter their age, they'll still have plenty of time ahead of them for love. Old dogs can learn new tricks and every one of our Sr. dogs is as lively and strong as any of their younger counterparts. And no matter their age, there's nothing like a purring kitty.

AMBROSIA is a 1 year old Boxer Terrier mix reported as a stray on 12/29/20. Sweet and sometimes sour, this cutie patootie is light and fruity. A little high strung and taut in her kennel, Ambrosia loses her sassiness as soon as she embarks on her walk. A delightful little walker, she can be a nosey Rosy who delights in indulging her sniffer and is alert to her surroundings. When Ambrosia isn't being distracted by smells and sounds, she sticks to you like glue. She's a leaner who wants to be close to you and would love to curl up in your lap. Ambrosia loves to give kisses and is a chin nibbler. She sits for treats, which she loves, and has the most adorable ears that pop up on a diagonal like antennae when we squeak the toy.
