Hopi Dog Rescue Organization

The Hopi Dog Rescue is the brainchild of Alexandra Posnock in collaboration with the Hopi Tribe of Arizona.

Our mission is to educate individuals about the Hopi people and culture. In addition, we want people to know that animal overpopulation is a nationwide problem with over 8 million unwanted animals taken in by shelters yearly and almost half euthanized due to lack of adoption and funding.

Our mission is to rescue as many dogs as possible using initial funds and volunteers. In the short-term, we plan to capture feral dogs, provide necessary medical care and seek interim foster care and permanent placement.

Our mission is to create a comprehensive spay and neuter program. In a period of six years, one fertile dog can create a population of 67,000 dogs. We plan to recruit veterinary students from across the country to volunteer spaying and neutering services until ultimately, the dog population is controlled on the Hopi land.
