We place rescued lap dogs with people in need of companions, saving one life and making the other infinitely better. We are a 501(C)(3) NFP organization.

Our mission is to offer Central Illinois an alternative to kill shelters where small companion dogs are at risk of failing to thrive and being euthanized, and placing these dogs with people who will most benefit from their love and companionship.

Holy Shih Tzu! is a foster-based rescue serving Central Illinois. Most of our relinquished dogs are adults or older, who come to us from University students and other members of our community. These dogs have often been passed around without receiving veterinary care. Some have had medical issues that have gone untreated for months, and even with the discount that some of our local veterinarians give us for basic services, their medical treatment can be very expensive. We also offer fostering for dogs belonging to deployed service members.
