Bingham County Humane Society

The Bingham County Humane Society pulls animals from the Blackfoot Animal Shelter and assists people in rehoming animals within our county. We also help with promotion and transports of shelter animals to other rescues in Idaho or surrounding states.

Our mission is to advocate the humane treatment of animals, responsible pet guardianship, and animal sterilization.
• Provide temporary foster homes for animals (abandoned and unwanted) until permanent homes can be found;
• Find suitable permanent homes for all animals in the Organization’s care by providing opportunities to bring animals and potential pet owners together;
• Reduce the number of unwanted animals by educating and promoting the spay and neuter of all animals;
• Reduce the number of unwanted animals in our rural areas of our County by providing assistance with trapping, spay/neuter, adoption or disposal. This would include programs such as our Barn Cat adoptions and TNR programs (Trap Neuter Release) or low costs spay/neuter help.
• Provide emergency care for injured and/or at risk animals;
• Promote the education of the public and advocate the humane treatment of animals;
• Provide cooperative efforts with local law enforcement agencies for the prevention of cruelty to animals and local habitat loss; and
• Foster and promote the work of other groups and Organizations that support these same purposes and do not violate or support positions contrary to the purposes of the Organization.

We are a organization that is made up of 20-30 volunteers. We are always looking for new people to join and help with our cause. We have been saving lives since 1990.
