Florida Humanities Council

We explore Florida’s history and culture through public programs around the state, our magazine, grant awards, teacher seminars, cultural tours, family reading programs, television documentaries, Chautauqua performers and much more.

The Florida Humanities Council—an independent, nonprofit affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities—develops and funds public programs and resources to help inform Floridians about the people, places, events, and ideas that shaped our state’s past, affect its present, and influence its future.
