Purple Path Animal Rescue Start Up

Purple Path came from the ribbon colors for both Animal Rescue and Domestic Violence. I intend to help both with this animal rescue.

I am starting an animal rescue. The shelters are always full and daily I get updates with how many had to be put down because there is no room. Or the heartbreaking story of a loyal companion that spent their whole lives dedicated to someone who then leaves them after being their world for their whole lives. Lost and alone, confused as to what happened. Left shaking in the corner of a kennel. Less likely to be adopted because of their age and their fear. And here in the desert the elements are detrimental for all the strays. So hot and filled with dangers from other animals or passing cars. There never seems to be enough room for them all to be safe, cared for and given love and a forever home. So I am making more room!!

I have always had this as my goal to do when I retired. But I find myself in the desert, starting my life over where land is cheap and the need is great. And I can no longer sit by and not do something. I am a recent survivor of domestic violence. And know that I would have suffered less physical trauma had I had a place that would have taken my furbaby. I was so blessed to find an angel near me willing to foster my Gidget and get time with her while I healed from my nightmare. I am so grateeful for that opportunity and know how important that was for my healing so I will be making this rescue a resource for other survivors with furbabies. I will work with them to foster for them. As safe and caring place for their animals while they seek the shelter and help they need as well.

I am in process of applying for my non-profit status and taking classes to be able to train some of the rescues to help others. Being a PTSD sufferer myself I know the healing power these amazing beings have and how necessary they can be.
