When she was initially rescued, Sweetpea was diagnosed with a terrible upper respiratory infection.🤧🤕 When it didn't clear up with medications,💊 we took her back to the vet who scoped her nasal passages were so blocked that she could barely breathe. Sweetpea had a special procedure to add stents into her nostrils about a month ago. 🐈After two weeks, the stents were removed, and we are hopeful that as the swelling goes down her breathing will improve. Sweetpea is ☘LUCKY- without this life-saving surgery, she would not have survived much long

“This past summer, the feeder of a local colony of cats reached out, reporting that a young male cat had shown up with a fully degloved tail. Gulliver was quickly rescued and taken to Guardian Veterinary Specialists. The vets wanted to see if his tail would heal on its own with antibiotics and cage rest., but after multiple vet visits, it was clear that further intervention was needed.

We consulted with two highly experienced feline surgeons, who agreed that Gulliver's tail could be safely amputated without risking the potential of nerve issues related to cutting the tail too close to the body, such as incontinence. The tail amputation was performed less than a month ago, and Gulliver has already healed completely, and without issues. Now that the pain and stress of his tail has been taken away, he has started to calm down and open up to his foster parents and fur-siblings.

We hope someday Gulliver will find his loving furever home, where they will understand all that he has been through. Helping cats like Gulliver is why we do what we do. Had a concerned person not reached out for help when she saw his injured tail he would have continued to suffer until infection set in, and he likely would have died outside and alone.

😻SWEETPEA is up for ADOPTION after a long road to recovery ! Scroll to see how far this appropriately named girl has come in the last 6 months ! Her grey kitten friend is Nala and our hearts would be happy if they were adopted together! 🐱 When Sweetpea was initially rescued she was diagnosed with a terrible URI. 😢 When it didn’t clear up , we took her to Guardian veterinary specialists who scoped her nasal passages and found they were closed up and she could barely breath ! We waited while the stents and tools for her procedure came in and she had them put in about a month ago ! After about 2 weeks, they came out and now we hope that the procedure worked to keep her nasal passages open and her breathing free! Sweetpea is LUCKY - she would not have survived much longer without rescue from a scary area for cats in the Bronx .

😻This is Bello and he urgently needs YOU to be his foster(or adopter!!) . 😻Sweet sweet Matteus is officially up for ADOPTION !! 💕 This young boy beat the odds when he was rescued by one of our volunteers after a kind woman who had been feeding him discovered he had a giant open wound on his neck! @bronx_furkids went out and trapped him , and brought him to the veterinarian. Our vet suspected he was either hit by a car or hurt by a person. 😢 ❤️ They stitched him up and our incredible volunteer /foster mama @aprildawn222 has fostered him with utmost love since! He healed BEAUTIFULLY, and is a love bug who sleeps in bed with foster mom and gets along well with her resident cats! Sweet Pea here asking everyone for their prayers and positive energy while I undergo invasive surgery today in my nasal cavities to help me breath better again! Do you remember when I was rescued back in late may on accident because I decided to walk in the trap that day instead of the target cat?! Well wow am I THANKFUL! It turned out I didn’t just have a bad URI but the holes in my nasal cavities closed up and my mucus had no where to go so I am ALWAYS congested and ALWAYS have a gross runny nose! The doctors say this was likely either a long untreated URI or genetic ! I have felt icky but am so sweet and have gained a lot of weight from being so skinny! TODAY September 21st , the autumn equinox and a full moon , I go in for surgery where they will open up my nasal cavities and place stents to train them to stay open . I’m nervous but hopeful it will be successful! The amazing @nycatcoalition already spent nearly $800 diagnosing my condition and now it’s going to be about $2000 to fix me up! Can you help them?
